Pastor Christian Jennert graduated from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley with a Master of Divinity degree in 2003. He grew up in a small town north of Hanover, in the Northern part of Germany and came to the United States to study theology at PLTS and the Graduate Theological Union in 1999 as the recipient of the Adelsberger scholarship for bilingual ministry from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in San Francisco. He had previously studied at the School of Protestant Theology at the University of Tuebingen where he also worked as a research assistant at the Department of Medical Ethics.
In January of 2004 he received the call to be the Associate Pastor at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in San Francisco where he served until coming to Holy Trinity in May of 2011.
Pastor Christian is excited about this new chapter of ministry on the mid-Peninsula. Among other things, Pr. Christian loves worship and music and enjoys the monthly services that involve children and youth in all parts of the liturgy; he is passionate about teaching all ages and is excited working with the children, youth, adults, and seniors of Holy Trinity. His vision for the church is to be a safe and welcoming place where all people can experience God's love and care for them, and where faith and service go hand in hand.
In his spare time Pastor Christian enjoys running, road trips, California's North Coast, a good cup of coffee and listening to music as well as playing the oboe or some other woodwind instrument and most recently he even picked up the guitar!
Kathy Smallman, Office Manager
Kathy handles all the business affairs for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Her office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Kathy lives here in San Carlos. She and her husband of 20 years, Tim, have 3 children-Paul, Sarah, and Zachary. They are very active in the San Carlos Community.
